Kevin & Angie | Pre-wedding shoot

Today I did the pre-wedding shoot for Kevin and Angie who are getting married in a couple of weeks at Crabb’s Barn near Kelvedon in Essex. Wedding photography is always a pleasure for me but I am really looking forward to this one as Kevin and Angie seem so relaxed and they are obviously looking forward to their big day.

Huntstile Organic Farm wedding | Simon & Katie

This weekend saw me travel down to Taunton in Somerset for the wedding of Simon & Katie as a result of my involvement with the Royal Anglian Regiment Benevolent Charity. Simon is an officer with the 1st Battalion with the Royal Anglians and a few months ago he was seriously injured in Afghanistan as a result of an explosion from an IED which occurred in Helmand province. At the time of the incident the company were part of the Household Cavalry Regiment Battle Group and they were on an operation inserted deep into Taliban territory, attacking the insurgents where they least expected it.

Simon was flown back to the UK and spent some time at Selly Oak hospital in Birmingham before commencing some intensive rehabilitation at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Unit at Headley Court in Surrey. As you can imagine the wedding was full of emotion as family, friends and colleagues gathered at Huntstile Organic Farm in the rolling Somerset countryside to celebrate the nuptials and everyone had a fantastic time.

I would just like to take this opportunity to show my appreciation to some people and organisations who have provided support for this wedding. Firstly, Simon Revill of Simon Revill Photography for travelling all the way from Derbyshire to help me out on the day, his assistance was invaluable. I would also like to thank Lee and Lisa from SIM2000 Imaging Ltd for agreeing to supply one of their stunning wedding albums free of charge and Lee from ISL Photographic Services for supplying a large canvas. Your contributions have been very generous and I know Simon and Katie are very grateful.

Finally, I’d just like to say what a remarkable man Simon is. He has been through a very tough and trying period recently but his attitude remains extremely positive, in my personal opinion he is one of the most inspirational individuals I have met in a long time and I would like to thank him and his colleagues for the hardships they endure as they perform their duties with courage and professionalism.

Simon and Katie, all the very best for the future.

Bluntswood Hall wedding | Mark & Gemma sneak peeks

Yesterday I had the pleasure of being the wedding photographer Mark and Gemma’s wedding at Bluntswood Hall in Hertfordshire and I awoke to sunny skies but unfortunately this did not last as high winds and sully showers appeared shortly before the ceremony. I was with Gemma as she made her preparations at home and was almost licked to death by the many dogs in attendance, I think there were about nine although it was difficult to keep count when getting licked to death and they included two Border Terriers with the rest being flat coated retrievers.

I won’t go into too much detail of the day and let the images do the talking but I must say it really was a pleasure to be their wedding photographer for the day and I left them still partying into the evening. Amanda & Graham pre-wedding shoot | Parklands Quendon Hall

This evening I had the pleasure of doing Amanda and Graham’s pre-wedding photography shoot in anticipation of their wedding at Parklands Quendon Hall in Essex in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately we were greeted with blustery weather but this could not dampen their enthusiasm for the photo-shoot – whatever happened to flaming June! The wedding sounds like it will be a lot of fun and I’m really looking forward to the big day as I will have a great venue and a fantastic couple, what more could I ask for?

Mark & Gemma pre-wedding shoot | Bluntswood Hall

After yesterdays rain it was good to see a bit of sunshine today albeit it was a bit blustery. I met Mark and Gemma at Bluntswood Hall where they are having their wedding in June. This wedding is definitely going to be a bit different and I am sworn to secrecy on a lot of the details but I can tell you there will eleven (yes, eleven!) dogs in attendance – two border terriers and nine flat coated retrievers. It promises to be a very relaxing and somewhat quirky day and I am really looking forward it, this is exactly my type of event.

Claire & Gary sneak peeks | Manor of Groves wedding

Yesterday I had the pleasure of being the photographer for Claire and Gary’s wedding, the service was at Nazeing church in Essex followed by a reception at Manor of Groves near Bishops Stortford in Hertfordshire. The heavy rain was very unfortunate but it did little to dampen the spirits of family and friends who were in attendance and everyone seemed to be enjoying the festivities.

Anne & Andrew sneak peeks | Tylney Hall wedding

This weekend saw me back at Tylney Hall in Hampshire as I was the photographer for the wedding of my friends Anne and Andrew. We woke up to a clear blue sky and what promised to be a glorious day for them to get married. The dress code for the day was “elegantly fabulous” and all Anne’s dress certainly fitted that criteria as she looked absolutely stunning. The ceremony was in the Tylney Suite followed by champagne and canapes on the terrace overlooking the formal gardens and lake and we were then treated to a sumptuous meal in the Chestnut suite.

Evening entertainment was provided by the superb Three Madonnas who had the house rocking and everyone on the dance floor, they were followed by a DJ and the party finally wound up at about 3am. The grounds provided some wonderful opportunities for wedding photography and these are just a few images from the day. If you would care to vote for your favourite I will ensure Anne and Andrew receive a print when they return from their extended honeymoon in South America and St Lucia. Anne & Andrew | Pre-wedding shoot

Today I had the pleasure of taking the pre-wedding shots for my friends Anne and Andrew who are getting married in a couple of weeks at Tylney Hall Hotel in Hampshire. This was my first trip to this venue and I must say from a wedding photographers point of view it doesn’t get much better – the grounds are extensive with many paths, hidden walled areas and sweeping vistas leading to lakes surrounded by mature trees. Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us with squally showers and it felt far too cold for May!

An Italian wedding | Greenlees Photography Destination Weddings

I was very fortunate to be given the opportunity to photograph Peter and Anja’s wedding which took place in Bellano. The town is beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Como in the Lombardy region of Italy and this was a wedding photography assignment I was really looking forward to. Anja was getting ready at the Hotel Villa Stupenda and the service was in the stunning Chiesa Dei Santi Nazzaro e Celsio church which dates back to the 14th century but to get there we were using a boat, all their family and friends were there to greet Anja and her father and as we approached the jetty the guests broke into an impromptu rendition of the James Bond theme!

Unfortunately the weather was not so kind to us and we had to endure some torrential rain and thunderstorms but the weather did not dampen the spirits at this very informal and relaxed wedding. The hotel staff couldn’t do enough to help and I would certainly recommend the venue for anyone thinking of getting married in Italy – nothing was too much trouble and the service and food were outstanding – so much so that we have since been back for a holiday.

With regards to destination weddings, from experience I know that the biggest factor to great photographs from your wedding is not only the experience of the person taking them, but the connection that you have with that person. This connection has been built from initial meeting and subsequent booking – all the way through your planning and with often with an engagement shoot included. This is where I come in, I offer my standard packages and these are available to anyone anywhere in the world – beautiful prints and stunning albums as well as cards and everything else you would expect from an accredited photographer and all at my normal prices plus expenses. Sav & Lindsay | Pre-wedding photography

This morning I did the pre-wedding photography shoot with Sav and Lindsay who are getting married at Parklands, Quendon Hall in a couple of weeks. They are a very relaxed couple to work with and I know we are going to have a lot of fun in a couple of weeks.

Luckily the weather was kind to us today and we managed a few quality shots in between making the final preparations for the big day.
